ANTONIO PIGA (PhD in Linguistics, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II) is a Researcher in English Language and Linguistics, and Translation Studies at the University of Cagliari. He was a former lecturer in general Linguistics and Glottology at the Department of Linguistics and Stylistics of the University of Cagliari, and Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the Department of Modern Philology “Salvatore Battaglia” of the University of Naples Federico II. His primary research interests lie in contrastive Linguistics, code-switching, interlanguages, dialects, Italian language and Linguistics, Institutional and Interistitutional language of the European Union, and English for Special Purposes (legal discourse, institutional discourse, and discourse of tourism). He is currently working on a research project about multimodality and social semiotics in Sardinian murals.
